Download Naruto Crisis: The Hidden Leaf 11 Gather

After a good showing last episode, I thought Naruto would hit a speed bump here and we’d be forced to take whatever crappy episode was shoved down our throats. Luckily for us that’s not the case with this episode. This episode sets up a good plot and keeps us interested throughout.

The plot of this episode has an enemy infiltrating the leaf village and stealing blueprints to the village. The Anbu catch up to the culprit, but he blows himself up, before they can capture him and after the explosion, they don’t find the blueprints on him. Tsunade has all the Jonin spread out around the perimeter to ensure that no one can enter the village and she has Shikamaru gather all the usual Genin to find out where the blueprints have been hidden.

The person that they believe did this is Gennou an old man, who Naruto had a close relationship with. Through out the episode Naruto can’t believe that Gennou was the one who stole the blueprints and it’s quite sad to watch as the evidence starts to make it look like Gennou really is the culprit. There’s almost a sense of guilt on Naruto’s face as the episode progresses, because he thinks he’s befriended the enemy.

It was interesting watching Shikamaru, Naruto and Choji conduct a full on investigation. The interviewing and the sneaking into places was something new, because we’ve really never seen a full investigation like this. The team continues to try to find out where the blueprints could be and it becomes clear that Gennou really did seem to enjoy Naruto’s friendship. They deduce that Naruto being the closest to him might subconsciously know where the blueprints are.

This episode could be labeled as broken, but it probably depends on exactly on what you like most about Naruto. Most people like it for the action, but an episode like this where we get into the workings of what it’s really like to be a ninja are hidden jewels that most people will forget about in the Naruto series.

With only thirty minutes they couldn’t focus on what each team was involved with, but it would have been nice to see what everyone else was doing. At least Ino wasn’t on Naruto’s team though, because the little time she did get, she was annoying.

With a mission this big, there should be a focus on a different team next episode. It’d just be cool to know how everyone else is working to protect the village. This was an enjoyable episode and it’s entertaining following the mystery as it continues.

I have not seen any of the episodes yet, but I am sure that it’s one step ahead of the original Naruto series. In this series Naruto comes back to old friends after training from Jiraiya and reforms the team seven. So there will be lot many new characters along with the old ones and will be filled with more adventure. All have got matured and improved in ranks and this time they will make plans for world domination.
